Local AI is built with a privacy-first architecture. All artificial intelligence inference and language model operations run entirely on your local device hardware using on-device weights.
Information We Do Not Collect
Local AI adheres to strict data minimization principles:
No Personal Data
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contact lists, or demographic info.
No User Accounts
You do not need to register, log in, or provide credentials to use the application.
No Analytics / Tracking SDKs
The application contains zero advertising frameworks, telemetry SDKs, device fingerprinting, or tracking cookies.
No Cloud Conversation Logs
Your chat conversations and queries are never stored or logged on remote servers.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
All data generated while using Local AI remains exclusively on your device in sandboxed application storage:
Chat Conversations
Stored in a local SQLite database for conversation history retrieval.
Downloaded Models
GGUF open-weights model files that you choose to download are saved in your app-private directory.
Preferences
User inference settings (e.g., temperature, context size, performance modes) are stored locally in Android SharedPreferences.
Attachments
Files and images attached to chats are parsed into memory locally to provide context to the on-device model and are never uploaded.

Third-Party Services
The application interacts with external network endpoints strictly when you search or download models:
huggingface.co)The app communicates directly with public Hugging Face endpoints via HTTPS to fetch model directory listings and download model weights. Network interactions with Hugging Face are governed by the Hugging Face Privacy Policy.
We do not send personal identifiers or user tracking data to Hugging Face.
Data Retention, Control, and Deletion
You maintain complete ownership and control over your data:
You can delete individual chats or clear your entire chat history inside the app at any time.
Downloaded model files can be removed directly from the Library screen to reclaim storage space.
Interrupted or partial downloads (.part files) are automatically purged after 72 hours.
Clearing app storage via Android Settings or uninstalling the app permanently erases all databases, downloaded weights, and settings.
Children's Privacy
Local AI is a general-purpose productivity tool and does not target children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
All app data is contained within Android's sandboxed private storage directory (Context.getFilesDir()), protected by the operating system against access by other third-party applications.
